My Story
Like many people I have had my share of good and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am today and I have had to make conscious efforts to change patterns and behaviours in my life and recover from difficult and traumatic experiences. I have heard the quote "Nobody gets out of this life unscathed" said in many different ways and by many different people. I think it speaks to a universal truth of the human experience. Through my own journey, I have found that cultivating self-awareness, releasing self-judgment, embracing self-compassion and taking self-responsibility have been the most influential in my ability to move forward and make change. One of the greatest tools to develop these skills has been somatic practices and counselling. I believe that although self-growth is a lifelong journey we all come into this world whole. I am honoured to work with people to help them connect to their wholeness, as well as encourage their pursuit of self-growth.
Education and Experience
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Bachelor's degree with honours in Psychology. Along with training in Compassionate Inquire, Somatic Attachment and Internal Family Systems. Before my work as a counsellor, I bring 13 years of experience as a physical therapist to the developing landscape of somatic counselling. I hold diplomas in massage therapy, manual osteopathy and acupuncture.
My journey allows me to integrate the wisdom gained from both physical and mental health disciplines, creating an empathetic space with a holistic and integrative approach to help facilitate change.
What to expect in the first session.
Coming to therapy requires tremendous courage. Opening up to someone you have just met can be intimidating and uncomfortable. Our initial meeting will be to determine if we are a good fit to work together. However, sometimes, this may take a few sessions, which is ok. I will assess if I can offer appropriate therapeutic support, and I will encourage you to determine if you believe you will be able to build enough trust with me to bring the issues you would like to work with in therapy. This journey is about rediscovering your strength, your resilience, and the boundless potential for growth that resides within you. It's about moving forward with a sense of empowerment and self-awareness, crafting a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. I'm here to support you, to offer guidance, and to walk beside you as you navigate the complexities of this beautiful, sometimes challenging, but worthwhile journey called life.
Psychotherapy and counselling are often thought of as talk therapy. Our purpose will be to create a collaborative relationship that helps you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and relationships.
Somatic Therapy is a holistic approach emphasizing the connection between your mind and body. At its core, there is an understanding that trauma and stress manifest physically in our bodies. Often physical techniques are used such as breath work and mindfulness to help you cultivate more self-awareness and learn to regulated your nervous system.
I believe the integration of these therapies creates a holistic approach and gives me the ability to tailor sessions to your individual needs with significant impact.

Forms
when you book your first session you will be sent forms regarding Informed consent our privacy policy and a general intake form so I can get to know a little about you before we meet.
Cancellation Policy
Therapy sessions are by appointment only. All appointments require 24-hour cancellation. Last-minute cancellations and
no-shows my acquire a fee.
Rates
Sessions are 1 hour and the fee is $100 a session. At this time we do not offer rebates for Medicare or private health insurance.
